I'm sure that you all heard about the 5.4 magnitude earthquake that hit the LA area. The epicenter was actually closer to us in Chino Hills, which is about 20 minutes from us. The earthquake was felt from San Diego all the way to Las Vegas and supposedly there were like 90 small aftershocks felt after the main one. Needless to say, I was scared to death and my legs were shaking for a good 15 minutes after. Dave was at work, Mason was at school and Jaxon had just woken up from his nap. I was leaning over his crib to pick him up when it all started. I didn't know what to do... stay there and get down, run outside, get in a doorway... Zoe came running into the room trying to figure out what was going on. Luckily, about 20 or so seconds later it stopped. I felt a little aftershock, but that was nothing. I knew it was bigger than the first one we experienced in March (which was only a 3.5 or so) b/c it was a more violent shake and lasted longer, but never thought it would be a 5.4!!
The cell phone lines were dead for just a little, but luckily I was able to get through to Dave via chatting online and Mason's preschool through the landline. Everyone was fine and we didn't have any damage. It was cute when I asked Mason about getting under his desk (I had found out earlier that they do earthquake drills at his school, which consists of getting under the desk and putting your hands over your head). He said, "Ms. Lee said we had to get under our desks until the elephants stopped jumping and making all that noise!" I thought that was a really good way to handle it without scarying the kids. He didn't seem the least bid scared or worried!
So, now I have told Dave we need to have an earthquake preparation meeting b/c I didn't know where I should have gone w/ Jaxon or where to turn off the gas if needed. I have since found out that the best place to be is under a sturdy piece of furniture, like a desk, hold on and ride it out!! I have added a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit to our grocery list! Call me a chicken, I don't care! That was TOO EERY and there is 99% chance that it will be just me and the boys again when the next one hits!! Welcome to Cali, right!
Below is a video showing the earthquake hit during the taping of Judge Judy!!

Pictures of the Boys
These are just a few of the recent pictures I added to the July Pictures link in the posting below. Check it out to see all of them.
Jaxon is officially a CHUNK!! He had his doctor's appt. and at 3 mths he is 15lbs... 75% and 24 inches... 50%. It doesn't look like the lbs are going to be slowing down anytime soon either. He gets so hungry he starts to snort, while moving his mouth around looking for food! He has actually bitten the head of the giraffe on his mobile while we were getting him out of his crib to eat... not once but twice! He's a hungry boy!
As you may start to notice in the recent pictures, Mason doesn't like to wear clothes! He starts off fully clothed, but by the end of the day I'm lucky if I get him in a t-shirt and undies! Oh the life of a toddler!

Mom, I swear I didn't do anything!!

My Sweet Angels... look how innocent they are!!

July 20th Weekend Activities
I have added some additional pictures to the "July Pictures" link. We took the boys to Guasti-Cucamonga Park which has a splash park, playground, lakes, and 'beach style' swimming pool with water slides. It was a beautiful day... mid-80s and no humidity. This is the kind of weather I had originally expected for Southern California, not the triple digits!! It was nice for me and Dave to be able to sit and relax for a little bit while Mason ran back and forth to the water. Jaxon, of course, was so content being outside! I don't think he made a peep the entire time, but then again that's not a big surprise!
Jaxon has started cooing and laughing, in addition to his goofy smile. The best thing to get him going is to talk to him or kiss his neck! We have discovered that if you say "AWW", he curls his bottom lip and starts to cry! He is so sensitive just like his mommy! Happy 3 month Birthday, Jaxon!!
Mason, on the other hand, would probably laugh at you if you did that and give you his mischievous grin!! He is doing his normal activities... baseball, tennis, basketball, golf and we have added paddle ball to the list thanks to Dave bringing a set home from work!! Poor Dave starts his Saturday and Sunday morning activities at 6:30am and doesn't stop until 8pm when Mason finally goes to sleep! He was so flattered when Mason told him, "You wore me out!!" I think that is Dave's goal, but rarely ever achieved!! :)

Rose Bowl Firework Show
We hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! We decided to venture out to the Rose Bowl to watch the largest firework show in the West (along with about 100k other people in CA)!! It was definitely all it was hyped up to be and worth the drive out there. Mason was in my lap holding my hands as I was covering his ears, while Jaxon was in Tracy's lap, ears covered and eyes wide open staring at the fireworks. They were exploding right on top of us... they were amazing. My favorite part of course was sitting in the Rose Bowl!!

The Death of Catfish and Sucking on the Wall II
At some point during our trip to Maryland, Catfish was eaten by the Shark in Mason's fish tank. I'm pretty sure about this because when we arrived home, there was a skeleton sitting in the bottom of the tank and the shark's stomach was very enlarged. I was still a little skeptical until two days later, Sucking on the Wall II disappeared from the tank. After checking the filter, air pump, and tank, it was obvious to me that the shark had his second meal. And to think the guy at the store insured me these were semi-aggressive fish that could co-exist.
