First, I am going to apologize for taking so long to update again! It seems like by the time I get a chance to sit down to update, two months have already passed!
We had a wonderful Christmas at home in Rancho Cucamonga. Fire in the fireplace, tree and mantle lit, Christmas music playing and boys opening gifts and playing! What a wonderful day! The boys were spoiled by Grandparents, Aunts, Friends and of course Santa! Below are pictures from some of the holiday festivities...gingerbread house and baking cookies, seeing Christmas lights, Mason's school performance and Christmas morning (sorry they are all out of order)!!
Speaking of Mason's school performance, there is a story behind it that we are SO excited to share. I am sure all of you know that although Mason seems like a ham around people he is close with, he is the TOTAL opposite when it comes to large groups of people he doesn't know. Last year's Christmas performance, he was the kid that ended up crying on stage in the teacher's arms. Needless to say, I wasn't surprised when his teacher this year said that Mason got upset during the practice when they were on stage and said he didn't want to it. So the decision was that he would sit in the seat and sing the songs with us instead of on stage. Well, he was determined to do the performance and talked about doing it all weekend. We get to school Monday night and he starts whining saying he wanted us to stay with him. The deal was we would stay with him, but once he went into the church, we had to sit in our seats and he went on stage. We start walking down the hall and he says, "Bye, Mom! You can go sit in your seat!" I was waiting for him to have a total meltdown for the whole audience to see on the big screen, but he was such a big boy and sang his heart out as you can see in the picture! I was so surprised b/c I had been asking him what songs he was going to sing and he only knew one of them. O f course he gets up on stage and sings all 3 songs and knows all of the hand movements! Needless to say, we were SO EXCITED AND PROUD of him and all went out for ice cream afterwards! It was a good family night out to start our holiday season!!
Let's see... what can I say about Jaxon??!! He is his father's son, just as much as Mason is mine!! Happy when he's eating (any kind of meat) and watching TV in the big chair and grumpy when he's hungry!! The only difference is that Mason is a morning person like Dave and Jax is a sleeper and takes abt 30min to actually wake up like me! You can imagine the mornings as Mason is all in his business as soon as he gets up and Jaxon is screaming his head off trying to get Mason away from him, all before I've had my cup of coffee! Oh, I love our mornings!
He is now 20 mths old even though I continue to tell people he is 18 mths....time flies too fast!! He is finally starting to talk more. He has been jabbering in his own language for a while and having a complete conversation even though he's the only one who knows what he's saying! He now says doe-doe (Zoe), Mae-mae (Mason), Uh-Oh, Uh-Uh (shaking his head- says this one a lot), tank-ew (thank you), bye-bye, hi, wuv-ew (love you), and makes lots of animal sounds- his favorite being quack-quack for his duck and growling like a dog! He has also learned how to take his diaper off, especially when he has gone #2. Lot's of fun for Mommy! We try to catch him before he does it, but not too sucessful when he wakes up totally naked in his crib. That's why you will notice we are trying out the "big boy potty" except that he only plays with himself when he sits on it. He's never actually gone pee-pee on a toilet yet! He's definitely going to be a lot harder than Mason was with potty training!
We are looking forward to starting the next year and excited to see what new adventures come our way! We can't wait for all of our families to come visit in 2010!!
