More December Pictures

I put the pictures in another December album, so to view the other pictures you will have to go back to the other Dec Pix link. Enjoy!

Give me those!!

How do I look?

Pretty snazzy!

OK, get them off of me!

"Santa, Can I Ride on Rudolph?"

After Mason surprised both Dave and me by actually going up to Santa and talking to him, he wanted to know if he could ride on Rudolph. I'm not sure what Santa's answer was. He also decided that he wants Santa to bring him a "BIG TRAIN with a BIG TRACK that goes around the Christmas tree!" This was totally out of the blue... he has not mention a train one time and has never been into trains, so now I am on a mission to get a train so that Santa will not fail this Christmas! Wish me luck!

Mason's Winter Performance

Doing okay and ready to sing my songs!

Nope...not happening!

Mason's Preschool put on their winter performance today. They had been practicing for so long and were ready to show off their talent to the parents... Reindeer ears...check, Jingle Bells...check, 1 crying kid in the group that will not participate... check! Well, that would be Mason this time!! My little reindeer was all smiles as he walked onto the stage and even smiled and waved to me. As soon as the music started, I think he got stage fright! Mason is the child being held by the teacher for the entire performance. He definitely won't make it in show business! I guess we moved out to California for the wrong reasons!!

"Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow"

Well, our mountains behind us have lots of snow and it's really low, so it finally makes it seem like Christmas in Southern California! They shut down I-15 (the main interstate to Las Vegas) because there was so much snow. It was below 40 degrees, rainy and windy on Tues and Wed, so we didn't get to see the snow until today.

The Making of a short & "stocky" Bader boy!!

Jaxon had his 6mth doctor's visit last week (yes, we are a month behind... that's what happens with the second one)! Let me just tell you, Dr. Ambrose wrote "BIG" on his stats sheet. We have another "CornFed" on our hands (as Grandpop likes to call them)! Jaxon Markham Bader, weighing in at 21lb 3oz and 27 1/2 inches...still 90% for weight and 50% for height!! When the nurse put him on the scale and had it on the 10lb, she quickly moved it up and realized, "Whoa, we are over 20lbs!!"

The doctor was very impressed at how outgoing Jaxon was, saying that most 7mth olds have figured out who the "bad guys" are, which includes him. Jaxon let him flip and flop him all over to check everything, the whole time looking and smiling at him. He was so suprised at how good he was through the entire examination. It could have been the dog bone he gave him to chew on!! Think I'm joking??!! He has pictures in his office of babies chewing on milk bones. He says they are the best teething food b/c they don't break into chunks and there is nothing in the ingredients that can hurt the baby. I was so surprised that Jaxon liked it and didn't want to give it up. I wish I had a picture of it b/c it was the funniest thing seeing him suck on a dog bone! So I guess I'll be buying dog bones, instead of Gerber teething cookies... just kidding!

The only other news he gave us was that his "strawberry" on his cheek is slowly starting to fade, but it will take a while before it totally disappears. Also, since the tearduct in his left eye is still not developed, he referred us to a pediatric opthamologist. He may have to get it probed (a wire down the duct to stretch it out)! Ouch!!

That is all the news on Cornfed III!

Mason's Own Christmas Tree

Here is Mason's Christmas tree in his room. He decorated it all by himself! Of course Jaxon kept rolling over to it and pulling the cord, causing it to fall over on top of him. Total chaos in the Bader household... that's the only way we know it!! :)

Nov and Dec pictures

Yeah!! I finally got them uploaded! Hopefully, I will get more uploaded for the month of December before 2009 is here! Enjoy!

Bader Boys Update

It's been a while since I posted pictures and an update on the boys. I don't know where the month of November went and now only 17 days until Christmas!!

Jaxon is easily sitting up on his own and gets on his hands and knees and starts to rock back and forth. It won't be long before he starts to crawl and then I will be chasing him all over the house!! He has 4 top teeth and 2 bottom, with another one coming in. Let's just say he's getting a lot of use out of those teeth, both eating and biting!! When he sees a finger, he grabs it and pulls it in his mouth to chew on. His new thing is to suck on your shoulder and then bites down on it... yes, it hurts!! Mason gets a kick out of sticking his finger in Jaxon's mouth to see how hard he can bite!

Mason is enjoying everything about the Holiday season... except for Santa Claus! He said he wants to "give up on the presents" because he doesn't want to tell Santa what he wants for Christmas!! We put the Christmas tree up yesterday and he was so excited to help w/ the ornaments and lights and he LOVES seeing all of the Christmas lights. As we were driving around and saw a spiral christmas tree in the yard, he said, "Mom, look! A Swirly-Wirly!" Grammy gave him a Christmas countdown calendar and every day he goes to find a "surprise" in today's pocket!

I am so excited for this Christmas because Mason is finally old enough to be excited about all of the traditions and this will be our first Christmas with Jaxon!

Hopefully I will get November and December pictures up soon!

Updated October Pictures

Here is the latest October Picture album. It has all of the new Halloween pictures added to it.

http://www.ritzpix.com/net/Albums/ListImages.aspx?s=C3EE69A19CC175BD76ED0B8E8851027C013390C4249DF10302EBBB3405CD9AF7&e=2774415197E060375C4CBB340F60E9C501951FDB2504017F877FBAC6D130DA695E9AFFDEE8EDC65058A7DBDBDE044493

Happy Halloween!!

Below are some pictures from all of our Halloween Festivities! Mason, Mama (that's my new name!!) and Daddy (or Dave, as Mason calls him) carved 2 pumpkins (a scary and a funny one) and roasted the seeds of course. We went to a Halloween party with the playgroup and painted pumpkins, played games and broke a pinata. Mason made sure to fill his bag with as much candy that he could fit into it!! Finally, on Halloween night, the Cowboy got on all of his gear and rode out to collect his candy from all of the houses in the neighborhood. Daddy walked with him (as well as Louie and his girls- neighbors), while Mommy and Jaxon sat outside with Jen and Chloe (other neighbors) handing out candy, listening to music and drinking some wine! It was a perfect evening for everyone. Mason didn't get to bed until 10pm that night and had a belly full of sugar! Isn't that what Halloween is all about?? Needless to say, he's pretty grumpy today!

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!

The Bader crew went to the pumpkin patch today (Sunday). It was kind of strange doing the whole fall celebration thing while sweating our butts off!! It was held at California Polytechnic State. They had a HUGE pumpkin patch where they grew the pumpkins, enormous sunflowers, pony rides, petting zoo, tractors, vendors w/ food and crafts, slides, bounce house, face painting... Mason and even Jaxon had a wonderful time and luckily we found ourselves a pumpkin!
Hmm, what's this big, orange thing??

Mmm, it looks tasty! Let me check it out!

More Sepember Pictures

I have added the last of the September pictures and just put the link for the entire album below. Just a few random ones, but they are really cute... a shot of Jaxon's teeth and him eating his first "real" food! Check out the link!

The Boys' Stats

We visited the doctor last Friday. Mason had his 3yr check-up and Jaxon's 5 mth check-up (really his 4mth, but we got started a mth behind!!). First, let me say that Mason was such a big boy compared to his first trip to see Dr. Ambrose. The first time was just for a new patient visit and he wouldn't get up on the scale or do anything without having a total meltdown!! This time he did everything he was asked, had to get a flu vaccination and didn't even cry (eye's filled up w/ tears, but that was it!!). He got some gummy bears from the doctor and a treat from mom after we left. Jaxon had to get 2 shots and sobbed his eyes out. I felt so bad for him, but once mommy could pick him up he quickly stopped.

Okay, so onto the stats!!

Mason is 38 3/4 inches tall and 34.5lbs. That puts him in the 75% for both height and weight for his age group.

Jaxon is 25 1/2 inches tall and 18 lbs 13 oz. That puts him in the 50% for height and 90% for weight!!!!! No, it's not a typo... we have a short, fat little guy!! I thought those thighs were getting chunkier, but I was guessing atleast 20lbs! He has started eating baby food, so we'll probably be at 100% at the next visit... Right after Thanksgiving!! Hopefully, his "rolling around the room" exercise will start to melt off some of the lbs!

So, it looks like we have some ABOVE AVERAGE boys on our hands. Dave's excited that we can breed some BIG BOYS for the football team!

Speaking of which, over the weekend we went to the city league football games. Two of the kids in the neighborhood play on the teams, so we went to watch them play. You could see Dave's mind working on which plays he would run if he were coach! A few more years and Mason and he will be out on the field in their football uniforms! Dad screaming at Mason, the quarterback, to throw the ball!! Oh, a dad's dream come true!

Peek-A-Boo

Peek-a-Boo... I see you!
Recently, Jaxon has been rolling everywhere until he runs into something that blocks his way... this makes him VERY ANGRY! The picture above, he had somehow rolled underneath the ottoman, but turned himself around. The other time I found him in the kitchen up against the refrigerator!

More September pictures added

I have added more Sept pictures to the link in the September Pictures post. They are of Mason's birthday and our visit w/ the Bader clan!! Enjoy!

Mason's 3rd Birthday

I cannot believe our little Nugget is now 3 years old! Oh, where does the time go!!

We had some special weekend visitors... Mimi, Pops, Aunt Jana and Uncle John ! They all flew in to celebrate Mason's 3rd birthday. We had a wonderful visit with lots of food, wine, golf and football! Everyone was happy!

Mason got lots of neat gifts... the Tag pen with lots of books from Mimi and Pops, a basketball hoop that count and talks from Aunt Jana and Uncle John, an Elmo Plug-n-Play TV game from Grammy and Grandpop, a cool football guy that kicks fieldgoals from Ma-Ma and Claire-Bear, and a big boy bike from Mommy and Daddy. We had a football birthday cake that Mommy made. Not as cool as the Caillou one, but mommy did her best!!

Aunt Jana gave him this egg that would "hatch" and produce a turtle. Mason must have spent 2/3rds of the visit sitting at the table checking on "his egg." It finally hatched today and he picked it up out of the water and said, "Aww, my turtle!" and gave it a kiss!! It was so cute!! He carried that turtle (sponge) around w/ him and put in on his lap while watching TV. He came running in to me crying and layed the turtle down... it is now headless! He was so upset that the head broke off and he wanted me to tape it back on!

Below are some pictures from the birthday weekend:

Big Bully!

Mason, you just wait until I'm big enought to kick your butt!!

Ogie and Papa's visit to Cali!!

Ogie and Papa just flew back to Dallas, but we had a wonderful visit with them! I don't know who wore who out! After they left, Mason slept from 2:30pm until 5:45pm. He was just so excited to have his Ogie and Papa here that he didn't want to miss anything by taking a nap or sleeping in!

Friday we went to Riley's Farm. It's this really old orchard/farm up in the mountains. We picked apples, rasberries and strawberries, saw some animals and went on a tractor ride.

Saturday we took Ogie and Papa up to Lake Arrowhead which is up in a different mountain. Mason got to go on the Merry Go Round, the Train, and feed the ducks.

Sunday we went to the LA County Fair. We ate lots of yummy food, went on some rides and saw LOTS of animals... goats, pigs, horses, rabbits, birds, dogs.

Whoo, hoo... this bumble bee ride is wild!

Once again, I'm stuck in this stupid stroller!

After the fair on Sunday, we came back and had an early birthday party for Mason. Ogie made this AWESOME Caillou cake. Mason loves Caillou!

Hi, I'm Calliou!!

Look at all of my cool stuff from Ogie and Papa. I got a Caillou doll, these cool candle sunglasses and my own sports bag for all of my baseball stuff.

Vegas Baby Vegas!!

We made our first trip out to Vegas with Eaton the weekend of September 5th and stayed at the Monte Carlo. Let's just say it was a different experience having 2 kids with you!! We didn't make 1 bet and were in bed asleep by 10pm! It was nice to "relax" by the pool and what I mean by relax is swimming in the wave pool and lazy river with Mason! It was a nice trip away from home and Mason had a blast sightseeing at all of the hotels. They both were really good and it went a lot better than I had expected.

Sunbathing at the pool with my drink... this is the life!! It's time to Party...

And I'm stuck in this stupid stroller!!!

September Pictures

I have finally uploaded the latest pictures. They include our trip to Vegas, the visit from Ogie and Papa and Mason having an early birthday party. Enjoy!

Some New Chompers!!!

Yesterday I just happened to be feeling Jaxon's gums and guess what... "Houston, we have a tooth!!" It's the bottom right tooth. It makes sense why he was getting up so much in the middle of the night!!

He looks so cute with it! He keeps curling his bottom lip over his gums like he's sucking on his lip. I guess because it feels funny to him. I can't believe he is already at the age to be getting teeth. It seems like yesterday I was just bringing him home from the NICU!

Hopefully, I will be able to get the latest August pictures uploaded to the website this weekend. Check back to see!

We hope everyone has a safe and relaxing Labor Day Weekend!

Jaxon's First Milestone

Well, we have finally mastered the art of rolling over onto our belly and screaming our head off until Mommy comes to my rescue!!

For the past week, Jaxon had been rolling from side to side, trying to get enough momentum to get that fat belly over and he finally accomplished it! On Monday, August 18th he rolled over not once, not twice, but 3 times and even showed off for Daddy. We were getting a little nervous after looking at Mason's journal and finding out he had rolled over at 2 and a 1/2 mths... not that we honestly cared. I cannot believe he will be 4 months tomorrow and Mason will be 3 in a month! My babies are growing up so fast!! :(

Jaxon has also decided he wants to give his lungs a work-out and wake everyone up at 1am and 5am. He has been doing this for the past week or so. At first, I would just give him a bottle and I think that is what got it started. The doctor said he doesn't need a feeding in the middle of the night anymore, so we have stopped that the past few days and my little fat man IS NOT HAPPY!!

As for Mason, he has been staying active. He bowled for the first time on Monday and we painted pottery last week. He wanted to paint a 4-wheeler like Papa's! It's a cool mixture of blue, green and red... what a piece of art! He is also obsessed with stickers. As he says, "Mommy, if you are good you get 1 sticker!" Jaxon gets stickers on his head, stickers on the carpet, furniture...you name it, it has been blessed with a sticker!! I walked into the living room the other day b/c Mason was being too quiet (first sign of trouble) and he had put 12 stickers on the hardwood floor. These, ofcourse, were not the kind that easily pull up. No, I had to scrape each one off with my fingernail and still had a gooey mess! Oh, how much fun with 3 boys in the house!!

Trouble at Preschool!!

Well, I felt like I had my first parent-teacher conference! On Tuesday, I came to pick up Mason and grabbed his daily progress report out of his file and read that Mason was disruptive during naptime! Uh-oh, we're not starting this again! I thought we finally got over the Donald Duck voices during naptime!

So I proceed to pick him up in the room where they were playing. As I open the door, I see the teacher holding Mason's hand standing away from the circle. She brought him out to me and told me that Mason had a bad day. He wouldn't stay on him cot and kept walking around disturbing the other kids, would not listen to Ms. Marlene during circle time and was poking the other kids while they were in line! As I look down at Mason, he gives me the puppy dog eyes and sad face and tells Ms. Lee, "I'll be a good boy next time!!" So we called daddy on the way home and told him abt the "bad day," which he said he would talk to Mason when he got home. Needless to say, Mason got to spend some time on the steps thinking about what he did!

Dave called on his way home wanting to talk to Mason and he looks at me and says, "I don't want to tell daddy what I did!" Since when does Mason Bader not want to talk on the phone!! He got a talking to from Daddy and a reminder warning on the way to school today to make sure he listened to all of his teachers, was quiet during naptime, stayed on his cot and kept his hands to himself! Luckily, we got a good report today... and a smiley face, which Mason was so proud of!!

Universal Studios

While Dave was in Colorado for Nicole and Mark Defee's wedding, the boys and I decided to venture out to Universal Studios! I know, call me crazy, but it wasn't that bad!! Mason wasn't as excited as the first time we went, but we did get a picture with Dora and Jay Leno happened to be there for whatever reason!

Our 2nd Earthquake Experience!

I'm sure that you all heard about the 5.4 magnitude earthquake that hit the LA area. The epicenter was actually closer to us in Chino Hills, which is about 20 minutes from us. The earthquake was felt from San Diego all the way to Las Vegas and supposedly there were like 90 small aftershocks felt after the main one. Needless to say, I was scared to death and my legs were shaking for a good 15 minutes after. Dave was at work, Mason was at school and Jaxon had just woken up from his nap. I was leaning over his crib to pick him up when it all started. I didn't know what to do... stay there and get down, run outside, get in a doorway... Zoe came running into the room trying to figure out what was going on. Luckily, about 20 or so seconds later it stopped. I felt a little aftershock, but that was nothing. I knew it was bigger than the first one we experienced in March (which was only a 3.5 or so) b/c it was a more violent shake and lasted longer, but never thought it would be a 5.4!!

The cell phone lines were dead for just a little, but luckily I was able to get through to Dave via chatting online and Mason's preschool through the landline. Everyone was fine and we didn't have any damage. It was cute when I asked Mason about getting under his desk (I had found out earlier that they do earthquake drills at his school, which consists of getting under the desk and putting your hands over your head). He said, "Ms. Lee said we had to get under our desks until the elephants stopped jumping and making all that noise!" I thought that was a really good way to handle it without scarying the kids. He didn't seem the least bid scared or worried!

So, now I have told Dave we need to have an earthquake preparation meeting b/c I didn't know where I should have gone w/ Jaxon or where to turn off the gas if needed. I have since found out that the best place to be is under a sturdy piece of furniture, like a desk, hold on and ride it out!! I have added a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit to our grocery list! Call me a chicken, I don't care! That was TOO EERY and there is 99% chance that it will be just me and the boys again when the next one hits!! Welcome to Cali, right!

Below is a video showing the earthquake hit during the taping of Judge Judy!!

Dave's New Toy

Just so everyone can see what Dave does after 8:00pm when the boys go to sleep!

We got the PlayStation 3 and bought Guitar Hero and College Game Day 2009. Look at the concentration in his eyes...can we say obsessed!! :)

Pictures of the Boys

These are just a few of the recent pictures I added to the July Pictures link in the posting below. Check it out to see all of them.

Jaxon is officially a CHUNK!! He had his doctor's appt. and at 3 mths he is 15lbs... 75% and 24 inches... 50%. It doesn't look like the lbs are going to be slowing down anytime soon either. He gets so hungry he starts to snort, while moving his mouth around looking for food! He has actually bitten the head of the giraffe on his mobile while we were getting him out of his crib to eat... not once but twice! He's a hungry boy!

As you may start to notice in the recent pictures, Mason doesn't like to wear clothes! He starts off fully clothed, but by the end of the day I'm lucky if I get him in a t-shirt and undies! Oh the life of a toddler!

Mom, I swear I didn't do anything!!

July 20th Weekend Activities

I have added some additional pictures to the "July Pictures" link. We took the boys to Guasti-Cucamonga Park which has a splash park, playground, lakes, and 'beach style' swimming pool with water slides. It was a beautiful day... mid-80s and no humidity. This is the kind of weather I had originally expected for Southern California, not the triple digits!! It was nice for me and Dave to be able to sit and relax for a little bit while Mason ran back and forth to the water. Jaxon, of course, was so content being outside! I don't think he made a peep the entire time, but then again that's not a big surprise!

Jaxon has started cooing and laughing, in addition to his goofy smile. The best thing to get him going is to talk to him or kiss his neck! We have discovered that if you say "AWW", he curls his bottom lip and starts to cry! He is so sensitive just like his mommy! Happy 3 month Birthday, Jaxon!!

Mason, on the other hand, would probably laugh at you if you did that and give you his mischievous grin!! He is doing his normal activities... baseball, tennis, basketball, golf and we have added paddle ball to the list thanks to Dave bringing a set home from work!! Poor Dave starts his Saturday and Sunday morning activities at 6:30am and doesn't stop until 8pm when Mason finally goes to sleep! He was so flattered when Mason told him, "You wore me out!!" I think that is Dave's goal, but rarely ever achieved!! :)

Rose Bowl Firework Show

We hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! We decided to venture out to the Rose Bowl to watch the largest firework show in the West (along with about 100k other people in CA)!! It was definitely all it was hyped up to be and worth the drive out there. Mason was in my lap holding my hands as I was covering his ears, while Jaxon was in Tracy's lap, ears covered and eyes wide open staring at the fireworks. They were exploding right on top of us... they were amazing. My favorite part of course was sitting in the Rose Bowl!!

The Death of Catfish and Sucking on the Wall II

At some point during our trip to Maryland, Catfish was eaten by the Shark in Mason's fish tank. I'm pretty sure about this because when we arrived home, there was a skeleton sitting in the bottom of the tank and the shark's stomach was very enlarged. I was still a little skeptical until two days later, Sucking on the Wall II disappeared from the tank. After checking the filter, air pump, and tank, it was obvious to me that the shark had his second meal. And to think the guy at the store insured me these were semi-aggressive fish that could co-exist.
